Dallas to Denver

Heitaas!

Kennedy murhattiin vuonna 22. marraskuuta 1963. Siitä jatkoimme sitten Oklahoma Cityyn.

Last day in Dallas. We went to see the place where J.F. Kennedy was murdered in 1963. After that we headed towards Oklahoma City where we spent the night.

The place where JFK was murdered. The X-mark on the street is probably the spot where JFK got shot.

Aamupäivällä kiertelimme Oklahoma Cityn Bricktownissa, josta jatkoimme POPSiin. Siitä alkoi pätkä tunnettua Route 66:iä kohti Tulsan kaupunkia. Ajoimme sitä melkein Tulsaan asti, pysähdyimme parissa paikassa ja löysimme eräästä rokkikahvilasta peltiset Route 66 kyltit kotiin vietäväksi :) Illalla saavuimme Wichita Cityyn.

On Tuesday we went to see Oklahoma City's Bricktown, an old historical district. From there we headed to POPS where a piece of the famous Route 66 started towards Tulsa. We drove almost to Tulsa, found on the way from a rock cafe a Route 66 sign to take home :) In the evening we arrived in Wichita City.

Saavuimme suhteellisen aikaisin kuitenkin Denveriin, joten ehdimme jo samana iltana tutustua keskustan ostoskatuun.

We drove all the way from Wichita City to Denver. The whole way was desert with only a few small villages along the way. We were quite early in Denver so we had time to explore the Mall street.

To/Thu 10.7.
Menimme autolla Denverin vieressä oleville vuorille (Rocky Mountains). Vaelsimme myös pienen pätkän vuorilla Golden Gate Canyon State Parkissa. Tuolla vuorilla olisi voinut viettää vaikka kuinka paljon aikaa, aivan mahtavat maisemat.

We spent almost the whole day at the Rocky Mountains near Denver. We also did a small hike at Golden Gate Canyon State Park. The views from the mountains were absolutely beautiful. I could have spent so much time there..and do even more hiking. I just loved the place.

We drove a lot around the city, since this was the last day we had the rental car.

La/Sat-Ma/Mon 12-14.7.
Lauantaina palautime auton.

Today we dropped of the car. Went with the light train into the city center for exploring more of the city. On Saturday and Sunday we just wandered around the city and went to different parks and streets we hadn't been to yet. On Monday late night we took the bus towards San Francisco. We had planned to rent a car again and drive to Montana but it was too expensive and even a bus ride there would have been too expensive that the only option was to head straight towards San Francisco. I will write more about the bus trip and happenings after that another day :)
